Attention Winona ISD Community!
As we head into the new school year, it’s crucial to keep our kids safe on the road. Here’s a friendly reminder about school bus safety and driving laws to ensure our students stay protected:
School Bus Stop Laws: Always stop when a school bus has its red lights flashing and stop-arm extended. It’s the law!
This applies to both directions of traffic unless there is a physical barrier separating the lanes.
Stay Alert: Watch for children walking to and from bus stops, and be cautious around parked school buses. Kids can be unpredictable, so a little extra vigilance goes a long way.
No Passing on the Right: Never pass a school bus on the right side when it’s picking up or dropping off children. This is one of the most dangerous situations for young students.
Let’s work together to make this school year safe and successful for everyone! Share this post to spread the word and keep our community informed.
Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to our students' safety!
